Revolution, as defined by Merriam-Webster, definition 2d: a fundamental change in the way of thinking about or visualizing something: a change of paradigm.

A Path to Progress - lead with love; and a plan.

In 1973, The Heritage Foundation was formed with the goal of uniting the right around a long-term mission to deliver unchecked power to the president via taking over the Supreme Court, allowing them to enact their radical right-wing agenda. This plan is now coming to fruition.

Today, we fight back! Vote Revolution provides A Path to Progress, to unite (and grow) the left with inspirational and educational media around a comprehensive and strategic legislative plan to strengthen our democracy and democratize our economy, all with an added focus on diplomacy before military, working with the planet instead of against it, and protecting the rights of human and animal life on this planet.

Strengthen our Democracy: Power to the People

The first step will be to give more power to the people by moving closer to a functional, direct democracy by:

  • Expanding the Supreme Court and implementing term limits to restore balance.
  • Eliminating Citizen's United to once again make dark money illegal in politics.
  • Publicly funding elections so that big-money interests don't control our representatives.
  • Enacting Ranked Choice Voting to allow for more real choices when voting for our representatives.
  • Eliminating gerrymandering so that our votes more accurately represent the intentions of the people.
  • Eliminating the filibuster so that a minority party cannot stop a majority party from governing.
  • Eliminating the Electoral College so that the vote of a person in a less populated state has no more influence than a person in a more populated state.
  • Basing the number of Senators per state on population so that the vote of a person in a less populated state has no more influence than a person in a more populated state.
  • Strengthening voter's rights laws.
  • Enacting compelled voting, national mail-in voting, and a voting holiday.

Invest in the People: Democratize our Economy

Vote Revolution calls for an Economic Bill of Rights to democratize our economy and ensure basic human needs as basic human rights:

Clean water, healthy food, housing, medical (mental and physical), education (including higher education), and a living wage job are human rights.

To this end, we shall enact:

  • A Clean Water and Healthy Food Guarantee to be implemented by the FDA.
  • A Housing Guarantee to be implemented through HUD.
  • A comprehensive Medicare for All plan that includes mental health, addiction treatment, dental, vision, and with a focus on preventive and holistic medicines.
  • A living wage that automatically keeps up with CPI/inflation.
  • A needs-based Universal Basic Income.
  • A 32-hour work week to address the AI era, increase efficiency, and encourage a healthier economy and work/life balance.
  • A more fair income tax structure based on the 1940s brackets that asked the super-rich to pay their fair share.
  • A co-determination law that allows employees of corporations to elect a certain percentage of their company's corporate board members.
  • A strengthening of union protections and right-to-strike laws.
  • Enforce and strengthen our antitrust laws and break up mega-rich monopolies and duopolies.

Although an Economic Bill of Rights is one of the moral imperatives of our time, it's also important to note that when we invest in the basic needs of humanity, everyone benefits. It truly does pay for itself on the back end. The economy flourishes, which generates more tax revenue, lessens our national operating deficit, and can even generate a budget surplus, which then pays down our national debt. Ask Democrat presidents; every Democrat president in my lifetime has lowered the operating deficit by the end of their terms, and one created a surplus and actually started paying down our national debt. All the Republican presidents in my lifetime have done the opposite.

Invest in the Planet: A Green New Deal

To become energy-independent via sustainable energy and sustain life as we know it we will:

  • Install solar on every roof.
  • Phase out petroleum (including virgin petroleum plastic) over five years; with a transition to renewable energy and recycled plastic. *with exceptions for medical and other areas deemed necessary.
  • Fund carbon sequester and other innovative methods of slowing climate change.

Working with the planet and not against it just makes sense. Sustainable energy is not only a mandate to sustain life as we know it on this planet, but it makes us truly energy-independent as a nation and as individuals. Sustainable energy is one of the best ways we can empower individuals and society as a whole. Societies that become energy-independent with sustainable energy will lead the future morally and economically. Those that don't will be left behind.

Invest in our Infrastructure:

Investing in our infrastructure inspires pride and raises the quality of life of the people.

I see a country in which we are the envy of the world, not necessarily militarily, but because of our state-of-the-art infrastructure, completed artfully and with an eye towards sustainability and racial justice.

We will invest heavily in:

  • Our roads.
  • Our bridges.
  • Our schools.
  • Our public housing.
  • Our public buildings.
  • Our parks.
  • Public transportation (including, but not limited to, high-speed rail.)
  • Bicycle paths in our big cities and our small towns.
  • High-speed internet in every home, office, and business.
  • A state-of-the-art wireless phone service that works.
  • Research and technology.

Not only does investing in infrastructure raise the quality of life of the people, but infrastructure investment truly does pay for itself on the back end.

Human Rights: Dismantle White Supremacy, Colonization, annd Patriarchy in our laws and in our culture

It's far time we acknowledge our origin as a white supremacist, colonization, patriarchal nation. This is not to shame anyone or steal any rights from the majority but to take an honest look at our past and acknowledge the injustices this nation was built on, in an attempt to learn from, atone for, and heal from our past so that we can finally unite as one nation, honoring and protecting all who reside within it.

To begin the healing we will:

  • Strengthen human rights laws for all races, sexes, and orientations.
  • Honor our treaties with Native Americans.
  • Start real conversations about reparations for communities held back by our laws and systemic prejudices.

Bring Justice to our Justice System

In a continuation of our human rights initiatives, we must reform our justice system starting with two key steps:

  • Make private prisons illegal.
  • Reform our police force into something that truly "serves and protects" the people by requiring a college education, extensive training on de-escalation, and bringing in experts in mental health and addiction to help facilitate most situations.

Welcome Our Immigrants

Immigrants are the lifeblood of this country, and it is time we start acting like it. This issue has been 100% created by our legislators on the right. Republicans and the powers that be (huge corporations) want cheap labor. They lure workers here with undocumented jobs at below minimum wage and then scapegoat them as the problem. This is a made-up issue to win elections based on fear. Democrats and Republican leaders have both long focused on deporting undocumented immigrants who break laws while here. Democrats have long proposed making legal immigration easier and increasing enforcement on illegal crossings. The problem is that the Republicans as a whole don't want legal immigration. We will fix this by:

  • Living up to our moral and legal obligations by funding quicker and more efficient processing of asylum seekers.
  • Funding a quicker and more efficient immigration process to filter out criminals while efficiently expanding our culture and economy.

Immigrants don't cost the economy, they contribute to it in new and vibrant ways, often bringing a new point of view and vigorous energy to the job at hand.

Peace First Doctrine: Diplomacy over Military

Diplomacy must be our priority. Military action must be relegated to last resort.

We must have a serious discussion, as a people, about the role we have taken in the world militarily. We must start a conversation around ending war as a method of gaining and maintaining economic and strategic power reserved for humanitarian reasons only. It's, again, far past time for humans to evolve.
